Welcome
Home page of the National Supply Teachers Network
Supporting supply staff: teachers, lecturers, cover supervisors & teaching assistants
The National Supply Teachers Network (NSTN) was created to support all supply staff. It is a hub for all supply staff, whether you are a teacher, lecturer, cover supervisor, a tutor or teaching assistant (including learning support assistants). The National Supply Teachers Network aims to help you get the very best out of your supply work.
To support you in your supply career, the NSTN has created pages about:
- What it is like to become a supply staff member
- Which is the best way to locate work
- What you should do to get the best pay
- How to access training while on supply
To navigate the website, click on the page titles (in blue) on the toolbar to go to that page.
Also, on each page there will be hyperlinks, which will take you to embedded pages or pages on other sites. They are easy to spot, as they appear in a blue font. If you see any blue text, click on it to take you to that page.
The NSTN also has a Network Association webpage (https://nstn.whitefuse.net/), a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/857200061136429) and a WhatsApp group (message Contact Us to be added). By sharing collected knowledge of the supply market, we aim to improve the pay and working conditions for all supply staff. All advice is personal opinion, so always remember to consult your union for any legal and contractual advice.
The NSTN has a number of campaigns, from enforcing Agency Workers Regulations to Holiday Pay Claims to founding the first not-for-profit supply teacher cooperative supply service in England. All of these campaigns are aimed at improving the pay and conditions of teachers in England and Wales.
So please, enjoy the site and if you have any improvements you would like to suggest, do not hesitate to message the NSTN on our Contact Us page.

Disclaimer
The National Supply Teachers Network has been created by supply educators, for supply educators. All advice is given in good faith but is purely advice gained from years of working as supply staff and is not legal advice. For legal advice, please contact your teaching union. If you are not a member of a union, we would highly recommend you join one of the teaching unions.
